Other than a night on the town that is. For some of us, it feels like we’ve been out on the town way too long. Seriously, it’s a problem that does have a cure. This article will clear things up for you, literally.
Double vision is medically called Diplopia. A single clear image is something most of us take for granted. Multiple areas of the vision system are responsible for this seemingly automatic process. All of these areas need to work together harmoniously to create clear single vision.
The systems of the vision system are the cornea (the clear outermost disc covering the eye that lets in focused light). The lens (located behind the pupil, focuses light onto the retina). The extraocular eye muscles (necessary to perform the eye’s movements). The nerves (carry visual information from the eyes to the brain). The brain (several areas process visual information received from the eyes).
If any one of these areas isn’t functioning properly, it can lead to double vision. So we have to consider the cause of double vision in relation to the part of the visual system that is not working.
If the problem occurs in the cornea, it often causes double vision in one eye only. The damaged surface distorts incoming light. This can happen because of infection of the cornea or more uncommonly, Lasik surgery can leave one cornea altered causing unequal visual images.
The most common problem of the lens is usually cataracts. Cataracts can obviously distort vision in both eyes.
Muscles Of The Eye And Double Vision
A muscle problem is usually a weak muscle in one eye and that eye can’t move smoothly with the good eye. If you look in the direction controlled by the weak muscle, it causes double vision. Muscles of the eye can be weakened by Myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune illness that blocks the stimulation of muscles by nerves inside the head.
One of the earliest signs is double vision and drooping eyelids. Graves’ disease, a thyroid condition that weakens the muscles of the eye, commonly causes vertical double vision. That’s where one image is on top of the other.
Several conditions can damage the nerves and lead to double vision. Multiple sclerosis can damage the nerves controlling the eyes. Sometimes, the first symptoms of Guillain-Barre syndrome, a nerve condition that causes progressive weakness, occurs in the eyes and causes double vision.
Uncontrolled diabetes can also cause nerve damage in one or both eyes, leading to eye weakness and double vision.
Because the nerves controlling the eyes connect directly to the brain, many different causes for double vision originate in the brain. They include strokes, aneurysms, increased pressure inside the brain from trauma, brain tumors, and migraine headaches.
Cure Double Vision Naturally
Singular double vision (occurring in one eye only) is called monocular. Having double vision in both eyes is called binocular. Sometimes crossed eyes are the cause of double vision because the image is on side opposite to the eye that sees the image.
Occasionally certain medications can cause double vision. Topical drugs such as Scopolamine or atropine and some systemic drugs such as antihistamines, MAO inhibitors and amphetamines and some drugs used to treat glaucoma can contribute to double vision.
So, you see double vision (diplopia) can be caused by many different conditions. But it can also be very easily treated. The Unleash Your Vision program can eliminate it like it never was.

I had problem of double vision (Diplopia). Individual eye was vision wise correct , but the images were not getting synchronised between a distance of 3′ to 15′. I could read OK but driving was out of question.
My Doctor chceked my Blood Sugar and Cholestrol and finding high sugar level in the blood, changed my dose and also changed my medication for diabetics. Doctor indicated to me that the medication which I was taking for the Diabetc 2 condition has probably ceased to have any effect on my sugar level control and there is a need for change of medication. I was taking the same medication for Diabetics for the last 8 Years.
With rigorous diet control and at the same time increased exercise broght my sugar levels with in prescribed limits and eventually, I could see normally.
This took almost 8 weeks of controlled sugar, luckily my Doctor had told me before the start of medication that it is reversible and increased medication, multivitamins, high intake of Proteins, exercise, etc wil bring back the eye sight to normalacy. It worked out well in my case.

Dear peeps,
I’m having similar symptoms as you guys.
Double vision (one up one down)
Drooping of the left eyelid
And probably dryness of the eye.
My vision is clear when I wear contact lenses but blur when i’m not.
I saw a specialist at the government hospital but they were no help
I did blood tests for MG but results turned out negative
Much help would be appreciated.

My father is 62 years old and only recently he has been diagnosed to be suffering from myasthenia gravis (MG). Earlier symptoms were only that of a drooping eyelid but now he is having double vision as well. He has been put on myestin for last 2-3 months now but his condition does not seem to be improving. How can he deal with double vision due to MG? Would some medication help or are there some excercises?

I’d not recommend medication, but to research alternative eye exercises first. Please watch my free video series for further explanations.

I’m sorry to hear about your sister! But double vision doesn’t mean the person has cancer. The likelihood is not very high because most eye conditions cause double vision to one degree or another.
Double vision usually indicates that another eye condition is present, but all of these can be corrected in the same way.
If you have double vision, it doesn’t mean you have to get checked for cancer right away. But to avoid both, a change to a healthier and more holistic lifestyle is very helpful.

I am having symptoms of monocular diplolia(seeing two images from left eyes one above the other)from last three days, Contacted doctor and he said it is due to dryness in my eye and he has recommended some eyes drop which can cure dryness in my eye. Am having headache also. I think doctor didn;t understand my problem of double vision. So is this problem can be because of dryness..
