I started my last article titled “High Myopia – What Causes Myopia?” with saying that if you are easily offended by the truth, you better stop reading, and it applies for this article even more…
If you can’t face the truth about your myopia causes and what’s really needed to improve your vision, stop right here. If you can handle it, buckle up, you are in for a ride!
The truth is that the cause for myopia is not in your eyes at all. Your eye problem is merely a symptom of the cause. The real cause is psychological. And there are few psychological reasons, which we will cover over a serious of articles.
Today we start with my favorite, with the reason why so many younger people, mid to late teens, early twenties, get myopia. It is the fear of the future. “What a load of B.S.”, I hear many say, “my optometrist says it has to do with the shape of my lens”, others might be thinking, but before you dismiss anything here, keep an open mind and let’s have a look on how it all belongs together.
Myopia Causes From A Different Perspective
You see, our mind is so strong, that it can literally cause us to black out what we don’t want to see. In our mid to late teens or early twenties we are faced with the question what we want or should do with the rest of our life. But the concept of days in relationship to a life-time can’t be understood as yet, that only comes around by the time we are 40 – 50 years old (see “The Continuum Concept” by Jean Liedloff, p 43). How should we understand what we want to do every day of our life?
So when we are faced with the question what to do for the rest of our life, we get scared, and I mean real scared. But what does that have to do with myopia causes? Great question, hang in there.
How Does THAT Cause Myopia?
Humans in a state of fear get stressed. So stressed that our muscles become tense and tighten up. Now if that happens in our eye muscles, the muscles flatten out the eyeball, extending it like the zoom on a photo lens, and thereby altering the shape of the lens. The shape of the lens becomes stepper because the eyeball is filled with liquid and when it is squashed together, the extension causes a steeper shape of the lens.
Now putting glasses in front of the stressed eyes doesn’t solve the problem because we are still under stress, in a state of fear, and our eye muscles are still tight as. The glasses only help us to see into the distance, the very distance we didn’t want to see in the first place. So, as strong as our mind is, it just tightens the muscles a bit more, squeezes the eyeball further, and viola there is the next level of myopia, and you need new glasses.
This keeps going until you resolve the underlying reasons. Resolving the underlying reasons is much easier than wearing glasses, totally natural, cheap as chips in comparison to a life-time of paying for glasses, and you and your mind can get rid of myopia easily. Glasses on the other hand won’t cut it, they will just increase the tension over time, worsening your eyesight every so often.
The Solution To Myopia Causes
The way to deal with your psychological causes for myopia is to do natural vision correction. That’s it!
Now the fear of the future is only one possible underlying cause for myopia, there are many more myopia causes, but the concept is always the same. Your mind is putting tension on the eye muscles, which extend the eyeball, and therefore alter the shape of the lens.
You can do something about your myopia causes, and you should, because clear vision without glasses is your birth right. You should be enjoying it every day of your life. There is no reason in the world why you can’t cure myopia naturally.

I fully agree with the declaration that myopia is a psychological aspect. However, eye exercises will only give minimal improvement. This is how you do it:
First of all is realization. Myopia is a condition where an elongated eye or short focus makes distant perception difficult. The optometrist will examine this condition, and to accomodate, will find a diagnosed correction to make the distant objects appear much clearer. But, here’s what both the optometrist and myope miserably fail to acknowledge:
Seeing habit. There are good habits, and there are bad habits. The myope develops the habit of trying to see more and more of the visual field into a small focus. There may be several psychological conditions, but the most common one is a stronger than average desire to know. More is known when it is in focus, but this becomes an unbearable strain on the natural and physical human condition. Optometrist actually enable this flawed habit, because the prescription puts more and more of the peripheral to a focus, and there becomes an ever increasing difference between concave lens influence and natural vision. As long as this habit continues, at best the situation remains stagnant, but realistically and in most cases, a stronger prescription becomes the consequence. The second realization factor is this:
START TRUSTING YOUR BODY! More often than not, our physical bodies are trying to tell our dominant conscious control minds something. The short-sightedness, instead of a “defect” is actually what the body is trying to tell the myope what needs to be practised. Once you start listening to your body, you actually focus on that short-sighted point somewhere out there in space, and you see that object of perception in the background from a peripheral perspective. This concept is the hardest thing for an “in denial” mind-set myope to realize. I know, this was me. To overcome an incredible desire to know, a counter to this would be to hold back the object of perception and “not know” it; see it peripherally. Get as much detail of whatever it is without submitting to that central fixation. Listen to your body instead of judging it through a questionable interpretation system. This IS the natural vision system; not all can be known. That is why I had a breakdown. I was legally blind at age 18 with a visual acquity of 20/400 and a “correction” of -5.00 diopters in the right eye and -4.50 left eye along with an astigmatism correction and axial shift. Now, my acquity is 20/70 and my lenses are -2.25 diopters each eye without any astigmatism correction. I was one who would put my glasses on from the time I got out of bed, and take them off at night going to bed. Now, even with this significant reduction, it becomes unbearable wearing them for 10 minutes or more. I only wear them for driving now, or some distant viewing. Concave lenses, if at all possible, should NOT be used for near viewing. I had to learn my lesson the hard way, no thanks to my enabling optometrists. Unfortunately, because of this “ingrained” system we live in, one doing mypic control most likely will not get much support outside of himself/herself.
I have had a difficult time with optometrists. They have not been open-minded to my desire to rid myself of concave lens dependance. Even when I went to an optometrist, had my eyes examined, and through all testing with an OBVIOUS improvement in my visual acquity, still, this optometrist tried to give me the full prescription of each eye individually, full astigmatism correction, basically dismissing the improvement. They argue with me, hassle me, and have an unbending mindset. I’ve learned years later why this “may” be the case. We have so much regulation here in this country, that if a medical practioner was responsible for my vision improvement without using the standard AOA protocol, they would most likey be subjugated to a panel, be questioned by a “sham” peer review, and lose their license. As despicable as this sounds, this is a reality with oncologists treating cancer patients. So much red tape and regulations constrict them of “really” helping people with vision problems. They are there to help, but there’s only so far they can go; and unfortunately, they cannot help improve natural vision; it really comes from within.
START TRUSTING THE BODY! Did you consciously create yourself in your mother’s womb, determine your sex and all the characteristics you have? Of course not! Is it possible that your created being might have more knowledge than an interpretation system? Good luck!

Hi DC,
thanks for your long reply and for sharing your story in such detail!
I agree with you 100% that natural vision improvement does not come from eye exercises alone, there are the last bit in the equation. Your mind, and your body are more important, and therefore Unleash Your Vision addresses these 2 first with healing meditations and movement gymnastics, before we ever do eye exercises. Eye exercises only balance out the visual system after the root causes are eliminated.
With love,
Evgania
