Have You Ever Wondered What Causes Myopia?
Myopia is the medical term for nearsightedness. I think the biggest myth out there is that myopia is caused by excessive reading. This is because populations that have no formal education programs and who don’t read books have a myopia rate of less than 2%. That’s why brainy children are always seen wearing glasses. Before you pat yourself on the back and look down your nose at the people who don’t wear glasses, remember, it’s a myth.
The next myth is that myopia is genetic. However, rates of myopia increased so quickly when groups migrated from primal living to an urbanized way of living that it could not have been caused by genetics. No blaming this one on your parents.
So, you are asking, what does cause myopia? You are probably not going to like the answer. It is caused by your perception of the world around you, incorrect diet and lack of eye muscle exercise. The old saying, “use it or lose it” is true of our eyesight as well. Also, our frequent visits to Mc Donald’s cause our eyesight to deteriorate rapidly. I’m not making this up. A high carbohydrate consumption raises holy heck with our glucose and insulin levels, which in turn raises heck with our blood vessels. Since our eyes are nourished by our blood vessels, you can see how important it is to keep them healthy. We should all start eating more like our early ancestors.
I’m guessing that we probably won’t start eating whale blubber and seal meat to keep from having myopia, but if adopting a healthier diet would keep us from having to wear glasses, why wouldn’t we do it? Eye exercises are a big help also and we will talk about them in another blog and of course at Myopia.Unleash-Your-Vision.com/
