  • Your interview brings up two good points:

#1 - that diet plays a role, and #2 - that environment can lead to nearsightedness.

It has long been known that animals or humans raised in environments which make them focus close up develop eyes that are nearsighted. Likewise, it is well-known that eyes get stronger only when you exercise them -such as by using a weaker prescription than was prescribed -or by not using glasses at all for prolonged periods. (This is something that the optometry industry probably doesn't want you to know.)

However, I was disappointed on the lack of touching the subject of cataracts. Also, the interview touched upon neither a specific cure for various eye maladies nor did it suggest how effective each proposed solution is. Hopefully, you will address that in other research of yours.

Nonetheless, diet is often overlooked as a source of problems, and lest we forget, America (where I live) is supposedly the most advanced country in the world, yet other countries beat us on such metrics as life-span and rates of various types of cancer -and this is due strongly (if not primarily) to diet. Other lifestyle factors also play a part, but my research points to diet as a chief factor: What you eat, how much you eat, and how it is processed: I find a vegetarian or vegan diet is superiour.
